Learn the process behind soaps
What’s mean by soap making?
When this process of Saponification happens, the Sodium Hydroxide disappears completely, even though the cold processed soaps need to be cured for a period of 3-4 weeks, because even as a mistake there should not be any traces of sodium hydroxide as an element itself . Sodium Hydroxide usually disappear on contact with air hence the curing time is required. The effects of Sodium Hydroxide disappears after Saponification, like how Hydrogen and Oxygen combine to produce water, and they will not be harmful as a new product.
What’s the real meaning of handmade soap?
For example, there is a method called melt and pour soap, which is generally glycerine based transparent soaps and many other soap bases like goat milk soaps which are available as DIY kits. In these kinds the soap makers do not know what Ingredients that are found in the melt and pour’s soap base. These kinds of melt and pour are not totally chemical and fragrance free.
The other ways of making soap are Hot Process and Cold Process. These two processes are the good old ways of making soap, using oils / fats and lye.
The Hot Process method uses heat after saponification has occurred, whereas the Cold Process method doesn’t. The Cold Process methods takes time, but these two are the safe ways to produce chemical free, good quality soaps.
What’s there inside the commercial soaps?
Commercially made soap bars contain: synthetic lathering agents or surfactants (SLS, SLES ) and synthetic colours, fragrances and many more tongue twisting chemicals that can’t be pronounced.
Almost all the skincare products found in the market contains petroleum by-products and synthetic substances, many of which are harmful for skin and proved by researches conducted. Even artificially fragrances are made from petroleum and synthetics.
Cosmetic fragrance oils are made from cheap synthetic chemicals which smell similar to natural botanical essential oils. They are not as costly as essential oils hence the users for these fragrance oils are more.
What’s the alternative?
Simple and safe solution for you to choose will be the Cold Process Soaps. WE REQUEST YOU TO READ THROUGH THE INGREDIENTS LIST BEFORE YOU THINK OF BUYING A PRODUCT, BE IT OURS INCLUDED, make a go for the cart only if you understand what is inside the product that you are about to buy, make sure there are no hidden products or tongue twisting chemicals in it.
Even in Cold Process method, many including organic producers are using REFINED oils, palm oils, which are not exactly cold pressed. To us these oils that are refined are also a chemical to the soap and poison the original nature of it.
What’s the method of my soap making?
Our method of soap making is 100% Cold Process, in which we personally ensure to give the time frame of 4 – 5 weeks for each and every single soap to cure before using.
Our Cold Process soap making includes only two main ingredients, that are cold pressed COCONUT OIL and cold pressed OLIVE OIL, and not any palm oils, rice bran oils or any other refined oils.
Other than these two oils, all the other luxurious carrier oils ( Such as: Almond oil, Grape Seed oil) we ensure that these are never refined as well.
What’s the difference between Essential oils and fragrance oils?
We would like to tell you that, unlike much commercial soap after a good shower, you and your bathroom end up smelling amazing like room fresheners. These amazing smells are from the artificial chemicals, synthetic and fragrance oil induced in these soaps. Now do you understand why you smell so great?
Most importantly we do not use any synthetic or fragrance oils, flavouring oils. Then how do we arrive smelling mild and pleasant? We use botanical, therapeutic Essential Oils which are derived through steam distillation process such as flowers, herbs and many more. They are not as strong the air fresheners which the commercial manufacturers claimed as soap, but these are of great value to your skin along with its mild scent that are one of its many properties.
Why doesn’t Essential oils alone smell strong? To understand this better let’s take our Eucalyptus oil. On applying it directly on your skin it evaporates faster, however its benefits to cure any body aches are satisfied. Likewise the benefits of these Essential Oils will remain in the soap, but due to its curing process, like Eucalyptus, they too evaporate when in contact with air. As a result, Thuyaa will not leave you smelling like a room freshener, but your skin will be grateful for the benefits our essential oils provide along with its mild satisfying aroma.
What’s the final solution?
THIS TIME… THE REAL SOAP!
